Suriana was founded in 2011 and is a registered welfare society with the Malaysian registrar of societies. Our registration number is : PPM-010-10-04122010.

is dedicated to proactively protect children in Malaysia from abuse. We protect children by raising awareness through social awareness programs, education, the media, engagement with the authorities and various other activities. We adopt a multi faceted approach targeted toward children, parents and communities. We also provide services to families and the community in our efforts to minimize the risk of abuse to children.

As there is a dire need for child protection in Malaysia, we need to raise the national conscience level to protect or children from Child Abuse.  Our vision is for all children to grown up in a safe, stable, healthy and nurturing environment.

We are located at :

462, Jalan 5/46, Petaling Garden.
46000 Petaling Jaya. Selangor

Our Work

Suriana is focused on proactive protection of children.
We achieve this through our proactive advocacy in the media, training programs, implementation of best practices, treatment for recovery, coping skills, counselling, family and peer support, prevention, communication skills and empowerment to families, victims, survivors and communities.
Our proactive programs include

  • The ChildSafe Program
  • Kidzone
  • Safezone

The Childsafe Program is a program that addresses the problem of Child Abuse in Child Care Institutions and schools as well as raises the awareness and proactively engages teachers, leaders, parents and children in the fight against child abuse.
This program comes in two forms :

  • The ChildSafe Intensive 2 Day Training Program
  • The ChildSafe Implementation Program

Our priority is prevention of child abuse in child care establishments rather than intervention.  This initiative will greatly reduce the risk and incidences of Child Abuse due to our multi-faceted approach in the protective measures that is implemented in the child care institutions (directed toward the management, teachers, staff, parents and the children themselves).
Due to it’s multi-faceted holistic approach that empowers childcare institutions, teachers, parents and children in the implementation of best practices to protect children, The ChildSafe Program has the potential to greatly reduce the risk of child abuse.

Kidzone Mentari is a neighborhood child abuse prevention and activity center as well as a community center focused on providing various services to the community in need.  Located at the heart of Desa Mentari,(on the 8thfloor of Block 5), Kidzone Mentari serves some one thousand families currently living below the poverty line.

The sole purpose of the outreach effort is to provide children activities, tuition and counseling for parents and legal guardians.  The community center also provides legal aid services to those in need, provides talks and training, counseling services and periodic medical aid to the community.  Teachers in our center are trained to identify and observe signs of child abuse and report these cases.

Safezone : The Suriana Child Protection and Counseling Center located at 462, Jalan 5/46, Petaling Garden.46000 Petaling Jaya.Selangor serves at-risk children, families and communities in crisis to prevent child abuse. This center engages and mobilizes families and the community in issues of child abuse and provides counseling services to families. Our programs work with children, parents and the community to create healthier environments for children, ultimately building stronger families. By providing families and the community with tools and education they need to build nurturing homes, we are breaking the cycle of abuse: One child at a time, one family at a time and one community at a time.
